Are committed parents/guardians that are dedicated to making their son's basketball success possible, by affording them the opportunity to succeed through different means of support.
Financially, select basketball in many cases is a SACRIFICE. As parents/guardians, we must make the sacrifices that will benefit our student/athlete in the long run. It takes the financial support from each player, to make this organization run. It is no different with any other program.
Time is another means of support. Being with your son on the road at tournaments on the weekend really helps players play better as a team. Being on the road and having people in the stands creates a comfortable atmosphere that allows players to relax and play the game. As opposed to traveling and having three people in the stands. That's not a comfortable atmosphere that anyone will thrive on, especially if the opponent has all of their fans cheering.
Mental support motivates players to do well. Just being there gives your son that edge needed for success. Being there to congratulate, console, keep him positive, being a listening board, goes a long way. Sometimes that is all they need to do their very best. Ultimately, this is what we all want for our student/athletes, to do their very best at all times.
It is hard for a player to commit, if their parents/guardians are not committed.
